Special Response Team
(SRT)

 The Special Response Team (SRT) is a regional force made up of Officers from Boonton, Boonton Twp., & Montville Police Departments. Officers or Operators are trained by F.B.I. SWAT Team Instructors, who donate their own time, in various special tactics. Some Operators have also attended the FBI SWATSchool as well as Basic and Advanced Swat School with the National Tactical Officers Association.

Due to ever increasing threat of major incidents in this day and age, whether it be a violent school incident or possible terrorist attack, the SRT was created in early 2004 to have local Officers, with advanced training, in the community who can quickly respond to a dangerous situation without having to wait unnecessary periods of time for County or State SWAT Teams to respond.
